Huaneng Qinbei power station (华能沁北发电厂一期) is a 4,400-megawatt (MW) coal-fired power plant in Henan Province, China.

Background on Plant

The first four coal-fired units of 600 MW each were constructed in two phases. The four units totaling 2,400 MW were in operation by 2007. The plant is owned by China Huaneng.[1]

Description of Expansion

A phase III of two additional units of 1,000 MW each was proposed, bringing the plant's total capacity to 4,400 MW. The two units, Units 5 and 6, went into operation in 2012[2] and 2013,[3] respectively.
