Huaneng Qinling power station (华能秦岭发电公司) is a 1,200-megawatt (MW) coal-fired power plant in Shaanxi Province, China.

Background on Plant

The plant is owned by China Huaneng. The first four units (2 x 125 MW and 2 x 200 MW) were retired in 2008 to 2012. Unit 5 was 200 MW and Unit 6 was 220 MW. They were brought online in 1985 and 1986, and retired in 2016.

Units 7 and 8, each 600 MW, began operating in 2011 and 2013, respectively.

Proposed expansion

Units 9 and 10, each 660 MW, are planned.

However, with no developments since 2013, the project appears to be cancelled.
