The plant is located in Qingdao Economic and Technological Development Zone on the west coast of Jiaozhou Bay, Huangdao District, Qingdao City, Shandong Province.[1][2]
Background on Plant
Huangdao power station is a four-unit coal-fired power plant with a total capacity of 1,770 MW in Shandong Province. Two earlier units, each 135 MW, were retired in 2009. Units 3 & 4, totaling 450 MW, were completed between 1978 and 1980. Units 5 & 6, totaling 1,320 MW, were completed in 2006 and 2007.[2]
