Background on Project
China Resources is leading a consortium building a two-unit coal-fired power plant with a total planned capacity of 2,000 MW in Zhejiang Province. The project was approved in 2009.[1]
In January 2014 it was reported that Unit 1 had gone into operation, having been built in less than 23 months. Unit 2 was expected to begin operation in April 2014.[2][3][4]
Proposed expansion
In June 2014 China Resources was seeking permits to expand the power by station by two ultra-supercritical units of 1,000 MW each.[5]
With no developments on the units since their announcement in June 2014, plans appear cancelled.
