Huineng Changtan power station (汇能集团长滩电厂) is a proposed 1,320-megawatt (MW) coal-fired power plant in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, China.

Background on Project

Inner Mongolia Huineng Coal Electricity Group is seeking approval for a 2 x 660 MW ultra-supercritical coal plant in Weijiamao town. It was planned for operation in 2017.

In October 2017 the power station was permitted for construction. It will support electricity transmission from Xilingol to Tianjin. As a power export project, it is likely exempted from restrictions on new coal plants under China's "red light" policy.

In August 2018 it was reported that construction had begun.
