Imidazolinone Tolerant Soybeans

Imidazolinone Tolerant Soybeans are genetically engineered soybeans that have had their DNA altered so they can survive being sprayed with Imidazolinone herbicides. Currently, the only imidazolinone tolerant soybean created is BPS–CV127–9 by BASF. As of 2012, has not yet been approved for use in the United States. BASF is one of the only manufacturers of imidazolinones in the U.S. If BPS–CV127–9 is approved, it will be marketed together with BASF's herbicides Pursuit (ammonium salt of imazethapyr) and Raptor (ammonium salt of imazamox).
