Imprelis is an pyridine herbicide made by DuPont. Its active ingredient is aminocyclopyrachlor. It was approved for us in August 2010 but one year later, in August 2011, the U.S. EPA ordered DuPont to halt sales and to recall Imprelis, "following thousands of complaints that the treatment kills trees."[1] DuPont marketed Imprelis for weed control in recreational areas such as golf courses and in commercial properties such as sod farms. By June 2011, the EPA was getting reports from state agencies of damaged or dead evergreens. The recall was announced August 4, 2011. Prior to the recall, Imprelis was approved for us in 48 U.S. states (New York and California did not allow its use).
