The Institute for the Study of International Migration [ISIM], "founded in 1998, is part of the Edmund A. Walsh School of Foreign Service and affiliated with the Law Center at Georgetown University." They note that they are "committed to building the next generation of experts on international migration." "In 2002, ISIM assumed the editorship of International Migration, one of the leading peer-reviewed journals in the field." [1]

"A group of experts from several institutions met on 15-16 November 2005 to form the Research Consortium on Remittances in Conflict and Crises (RCRCC). The gathering was sponsored by the Institute for the Study of International Migration of Georgetown University and the International Peace Academy of New York. The group included individuals representing different perspectives and institutional priorities but sharing a concern with migration and remittances associated with conflict and crisis countries."
