J. Peter Simon
J. Peter Simon "co-founded William E. Simon and Sons (WES&S), along with his late father, former Treasury Secretary William E. Simon, and his brother, Bill Simon, Jr. in 1988. He currently serves as Co-Chairman of the Firm and its Investment Group and leads the New Jersey office.
"Mr. Simon was previously employed by Kidder Peabody in New York City for over twelve years. At Kidder Peabody, he rose to Managing Director in the convertible securities department.
"As part of his responsibilities at WES&S, Mr. Simon has served on the Board of Directors of AimNet Solutions and was Chairman of the Board of Puck Holdings (NJ Devils). He is currently on the Board of Directors of Puck Holdings (NJ Devils).
"Mr. Simon earned a BA in Psychology from Lafayette College and also attended NYU’s Graduate School of Business. He has been an active supporter of the schools he has attended, serving on the Endowment Committee for Newark Academy and as a Trustee at Lafayette College. At Lafayette College he also serves on the Buildings and Grounds Committee, the Easton Committee and is Vice Chairman of the Endowment Committee. Mr. Simon is Chairman of The William E. Simon Graduate School of Business Advisory Committee at the University of Rochester and is a member of the Peck School Endowment Committee.
"Philanthropically, Mr. Simon donates his time to a broad variety of charitable entities. He serves on the Alliance for School Choice Board of Trustees, the Executive Committee and is also member of the Finance Committee. He is currently a provisional Member of the Charles Hayden Foundation, a Trustee of the Richard Nixon Library and Birthplace Foundation and serves as a member of their Executive/Nominations Committee and as Chairman of the Investment Committee. He is Vice Chairman of the Morristown Memorial Health Foundation Board of Trustees and serves on their Investment Sub-Committee. He is also Chairman of the Oncology Leadership Council at Morristown Memorial Hospital. At present he also serves as Co-Chairman of the William E. Simon Foundation and is a member of the Covenant House New Jersey Board of Directors.
"Past philanthropic commitments include the Gladney Center, the National Council for Adoption, the Peck School Board of Trustees, the Teen Ranch Foundation in Ontario, Canada and New Jersey Seeds Advisory Committee.
"Mr. Simon resides in New Vernon, NJ with his wife Janet and their four children, Peter Jr., Emily, Timmy and Cameron." [1]
