Coal power stations

Jain Energy states that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the government of Chhattisgarh for the establishment of a 1200 MW coal-fired plant Jangir-Champa and Korba districts. Jain Energy states that "the project is proposed to be implemented over a period of 48 months. The plant, envisaged to be spread over 1000 acres, will provide employment directly and indirectly to over 5000 people. Development Consultants Pvt. Ltd.are the technical consultants to the project and considerable progress including on land acquisition, completion of Public Hearings, Forest clearence [sic], Water allotment has already been achieved."[1]

The company also states that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Government of Madhya Pradesh for the establishment of a 1320 MW Thermal Power Plant in Madhya Pradesh.[1]
