Jennie Rosenn
Rabbi Jennie Rosenn is the Program Director, Jewish Life and Values of the Nathan Cummings Foundation.
"Rabbi Jennie Rosenn brings to the Nathan Cummings Foundation more than a decade of experience working in the Jewish community and in particular the field of social justice.
"Rabbi Rosenn has served as Associate Jewish Chaplain of Hillel at Columbia University and Barnard College since 1997. Through her teaching, pastoral counseling, program development, and community building, Rabbi Rosenn served as a religious leader for thousands of students, faculty, and community members. While at Columbia, she founded and directed Columbia/Barnard Tzedek Hillel, an award-winning initiative that is making community service and social activism a vibrant part of Jewish life on campus.
"Rabbi Rosenn has served as a consultant to organizations seeking to engage Jewish young people in service and activism. She has also taught widely in the Jewish community on issues of Judaism and social justice and the relationship between activism and spirituality.
"Rabbi Rosenn was ordained by Hebrew Union College – Jewish Institute of Religion and is an alumna of the Wexner Graduate Fellowship Program. She has worked in congregations and campus communities, as a chaplain at NYU Medical Center and the Momentum AIDS Project, and at the Reform movement’s Commission on Social Action. A founding board member of AVODAH: The Jewish Service Corps, Rabbi Rosenn has recently served on the board of New York Jobs with Justice, the advisory boards of Sh'ma and the Jewish Coalition for Service, and the rabbinic boards of Jews for Racial and Economic Justice and the New Israel Fund.
