Background on Plant

The two existing coal-fired units of Yancheng-1 power station, units 10 and 11 totaling 270 MW, were commissioned in 2004. The plant's first nine units have been retired. The plant is owned by Jiangsu Guoxin Investment Group.

Description of Expansion

Jiangsu Guoxin was planning to build the two-unit coal-fired Yancheng-2 plant, with a total planned capacity of 700 MW. [1] The plan to add new coal capacity has been cancelled; instead a gas-fired power station is now in planning.[2]
