Jo Victoria

Jo Victoria "has worked in Indigenous Affairs for more than 20 years. She has lived and worked in remote Australia for many years working in the areas of Indigenous heritage management, health and housing research, policy development and land management. Her work has essentially focused on consultations and negotiations between the interests of Indigenous land owners, industry and government.

"More recently Jo has contributed to research projects focusing on national Indigenous policy development through her work with Professor Mick Dodson at the National Centre for Indigenous Studies at the Australian National University and the Australian Institute of Aboriginal and Torres Straight Islander Studies. Her most recent position was with Indigenous Business Australia where she worked on the successful Indigenous Business Conversations which aimed to facilitate discussions between Indigenous investors, the private sector and government.

"She has an Honours Degree in Anthropology and Aboriginal Studies from the ANU and University of Queensland as well as a Research Masters from the Aboriginal Environment Research Centre at the University of Queensland. She has also held a number of positions on national Indigenous policy forums based in Canberra."
