Joseph Lockhart (Joe) was the former assistant to President William Jefferson Clinton and Press Secretary at the White House. In 2002, Lockhart was President and Founding Partner of the Glover Park Group, "a leading Washington consulting firm specializing in advocacy advertising." [1]

Most recently, Lockhart is a founding member of the new online political and social networking community HOTSOUP.com, which is to debut in October 2006.

Lockhart was previously a Senior Vice President of Robinson Lerer Sawyer Miller, "where he brought an international media and U.S. political background to the management of sensitive communications issues."[2] O'Dwyers PR Daily wrote that prior to joining the White House "Lockhart was executive VP at Bozell Sawyer Miller, advising Microsoft and Coca-Cola".[3]

Lockhart's "political experience spans several U.S. Presidential campaigns. He was the Deputy Press Secretary for the Michael Dukakis/Lloyd Bentsen 1988 Presidential campaign, traveling with the nominee. In 1984, he was Assistant Press Secretary for the Walter Mondale/Geraldine Ferraro campaign, acting as primary liaison to the broadcast media, supervising advance staff, scheduling press-related operations, and providing logistical support for the traveling press. During the 1980 James Earl Carter, Jr./Walter Mondale campaign he was a Regional Press Coordinator, managing communications for senior White House and campaign stall in 11 Northeastern states."[4]

"His award-winning journalism activities include key positions at SKY Television News of London, Cable News Network (CNN), and ABC Network News. At SKY Television News, Mr. Lockhart served as foreign producer for Europe's first 24- hour television direct broadcast news service and contributing reporter/producer to the International Business Report, SKY's daily business and economic program. As Deputy Assignment Manager for CNN, he developed and tracked Washington-oriented news stories involving the White House, Congress, and Federal agencies, and produced political campaign coverage. Mr. Lockhart has also been an Assignment Editor for ABC Network News, and covered the Pennsylvania delegation at the 1980 Democratic Convention for NBC Network News."[5]
