"John was CEO of the Office of Fair Trading from 2005 to 2012. Prior to that, he chaired the Irish Competition Authority and worked as an academic economist in London, Dublin and Chicago. He has experience at international relations in the areas of competition and regulation. He studied economics at Trinity College Dublin and Nuffield College Oxford."[1]
