John Grim

John Grim "is a Senior Lecturer and Research Scholar at Yale University, USA. He is President of the American Teilhard Association (since 1995), and a founding member of the Forum on Religion and Ecology. As a historian of religions, Grim undertakes annual field studies in American Indian lifeways among the Apsaalooke/Crow peoples of Montana and the Swy-ahl-puh/Salish peoples of the Columbia River Plateau in eastern Washington. Grim and his wife, Mary Evelyn Tucker, organized the World Religion and Ecology conference series held at the Center for the Study of World Religions at Harvard Divinity School. A ten volume series, World Religions and Ecology, was published from the conference papers. His published works include: The Shaman: Patterns of Religious Healing Among the Ojibway Indians (University of Oklahoma Press, 1983), an edited volume, Indigenous Traditions and Ecology: The Interbeing of Cosmology and Community (Center for the Study of World Religions, 2001), and, co-edited with Mary Evelyn Tucker, Worldviews and Ecology: Religion, Philosophy, and the Environment (Orbis, 1994)."
