"Until 1996, Johnson was President, CEO and major shareholder of the Sudamtex Group, a large industrial group with manufacturing plants in Venezuela, Uruguay, Argentina and the United Kingdom. After selling the majority of his shares he remained on the board for a number of years as well as serving on the boards of a number of Venezuelan and international companies.
"Today he is semi-retired but still active in companies in Venezuela where he has major shareholdings in SIMACA C.A., an engineering and construction company, SUPLIMACA C.A., a building materials distribution company, and Inversiones WPF C.A., a housing development company.
"He has been President of the Venezuelan Textile Association, the Venezuelan-Canadian Chamber of Commerce, a member of the board of the Venezuelan Chamber of Industries and a member of CEAL (Consejo Empresario de America Latina).
"The Venezuelan Government awarded Johnson the Order of Francisco de Miranda Fst. Class and the Order Sol de Carabobo Fst. Class for services to the nation and was named one of the top ten Latin American businessmen of the decade by America Economia in 1996.
"He earned a BS in Engineering Science from the University of Notre Dame in 1961 and an MS in Industrial Management from Purdue University in 1962." [1]
