John Lomax "is head of global emerging market equity strategy for HSBC Investment Bank. This involves the analysis of macro and micro economic trends in a wide range of developing countries. He has held a range of similar roles at other banks. He spent the first five years of his career as an economist at the Bank of England.
"He lived for a period in South Africa, working on HSBC's South African research team in Cape Town. South Africa remains one of his principal professional research interests.
"He has an MA from St Andrews University in Economics and additionally a PhD in econometrics." [1]
