Jonathan A. Shore is the Manager of External Mobilization at the American Petroleum Institute. Previously, he was the Director of the Commerce, Insurance, and Economic Development Task Force at the American Legislative Exchange Council.[1]

Education and Experience
Shore attended Gettysburg College from 2000 to 2004, graduating with a BA in political science. After college, he began a job with ALEC as a Legislative Assistant to the Civil Justice and Natural Resources Task Forces. In December 2006, he became the director of the Commerce, Insurance, and Economic Development Task Force. While with ALEC, he testified before state legislative committees and "authored, as well as edited, numerous issues papers, op-eds and monthly articles on American electricity and transportation fuel demand, the environment, alternative fuels and refining issues." ALEC's campaigns on issues he was involved with resulted in the passage of "tort reform" legislation in 44 states.
Shore left ALEC in 2007 to take a job with the American Petroleum Institute as an Associate in State Government Relations. In 2009, he was promoted to be a Manager of External Mobilization. He describes his work as follows:
- "Managed API's relationships with over 70 outside organizations representing small business, transportation, agricultural, manufacturers, distributors and other energy trade associations
- "Developed and managed a department operating budget of $1 million
- "Forged relationships with nontraditional allies such as minority, religious, labor and sportsmen groups that resulted in the activation of their memberships on critical energy issues
- "Cultivated and developed multi-industry coalitions on various federal , state and local issues including EPA climate change regulations, NAAQS and offshore drilling
- "Executed multiple state and regional issue campaigns on oil sands, offshore drilling and hydraulic fracturing utilizing an array of grassroots and grasstops tools to influence public perception and public policy
- "Represented API to elected officials' organizations such as NGA, NLGA, NAAG, ALEC, NCSL, CSG, NACo, and USCM.
