KEPCO Chiba power station was a proposed 1,000-megawatt (MW) coal plant in Chiba Prefecture, Japan.

The proposal is separate from KEPCO's proposed 1,000 MW Ichihara power station, which the company is planning for Chiba with oil company Tonen General Sekiyu.

Background

In December 2014 Kansai Electric Power (KEPCO) said it planned a coal-fired power station of 1,000 MW in Chiba Prefecture, in cooperation with Tokyo Gas. As of November 2019 there had been no additional news about this project since April 2015, and it appears to be cancelled.
