The Kaita power station is a proposed 112-megawatt (MW) co-fired coal and biomass power station in Hiroshima prefecture, Japan.

Background

The co-fired coal and biomass power station is proposed by Chugoku Power Company and Hiroshima Gas (HG) at the site of HG's old Kaita factory. The companies plan to submit the EIA in FY 2015-6, begin construction in 2018, and complete the power station by 2021.

The EIA process was complete as of July 2018, according to the Kiko Network.

According to the Kiko Network, construction began in December 2018.
