Background on Plant
This project is mentioned on Table 5.8 of the 2018-2027 PT PLN long-range supply plan, scheduled for 2027/2028. It comprises two units of 100 MW each.[1] In February 2018 it was reported that PT PLN Persero was in the process of acquiring a number of coal mines in Kalimantan to supply proposed coal-fired plants, with a goal of reaching supply agreements for these plants, including Kalselteng-5, by June 2018.[2] In the 2019-2028 long-range plan the project is listed a single 100-MW unit with a completion date of 2028.[3] PLN has assigned responsibility for developing the plant to its subsidiary Pembangkitan Jawa Bali Investasi (PJBI).[4]
