Kathy Giusti

Kathy Giusti "is President of the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation (MMRF), which funds research grants, organizes think tanks and educates the myeloma community. The MMRF mission is to accelerate the search for a cure and provide information through newsletters, symposiums and its web site. After being diagnosed with multiple myeloma in 1996, Giusti established the foundation with her sister to raise awareness and funding for the disease. She was awarded the 1998 Healthcare Businesswoman's Association's Woman of the Year award, the 2001 Harvard Business School Entrepreneurial Award, the 2002 McCarty Cancer Foundation Humanitarian Award, the 2002 Joseph Michaeli award from the Weill Medical College of Cornell University and the 2003 Angel Award from Goldman Philanthropic Partners. She has served on the National Cancer Institute’s Director's Consumer Liaison Group and is a member of the Cancer Leadership Council and the board of directors for IMS Health. Giusti began her career in sales and marketing, and was executive director of GD Searle's worldwide arthritis franchise and Searle's Midwest operations. She received an MBA from Harvard Business School."
