Ken Scott
Ken joined the Westway Trust "as Chairman in March 2012. He began his career in commercial banking with Midland Bank (now HSBC) and rose to Regional Director responsible for one fifth of the UK branch network.
"Other executive appointments followed which included Group Marketing Director at Bristol & West Building Society; Chief Executive of Hamptons International and Senior Vice President of Avco Trust (now CitiFinancial). In 1999, Ken extended his skills when he became involved in his first start-up, a dot-com investor information business, which he floated on the AIM market. He later co-founded a luxury leather-goods fashion business, whose products are now sold in Harrods and on Net-a-Porter.
"During this time Ken built a reputation as a visionary and inspirational leader, who knew how to steer organisational turnarounds and drive growth. In 2002, Ken was invited to join ILX Group, an ailing AIM-listed eLearning company that was fast running out of cash and time. He took the helm and over the next 10 1/2 years built this business into a global market leader. In 2009, Ken was recognised with the prestigious 'Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year' award for London and the South of England." [1]
