Biographical Information

"Klaus Dik Nielsen is the advocacy officer of the At Home in Europe Project. He joined the Open Society Foundations in London in January 2009 and is responsible for developing strategic and operational advocacy frameworks at the city, national, and EU level.

"Prior to joining the Foundations, Nielsen worked for nine years at the International Secretariat of Amnesty International. As the campaigner on refugee and migrants’ rights, he formulated international campaign strategies, project managed the organization’s first global campaign on migrants’ rights, and advised the worldwide network of refugee and migrants’ rights coordinators on strategic campaigning.

"In his subsequent role as the international capacity building coordinator, Nielsen drafted and piloted Amnesty International’s new capacity building framework, which aims to build and strengthen sustainable capacity in AI offices globally. He also provided strategic advice on capacity building projects across a range of situations and countries."
