Background on Plant

The nine-unit, 459-MW coal-fired Krasnoyarsk CHP-1 power station is owned by SUEK. The plant’s nine units were brought online between 1954 and 2003.

In April 2018, the first of the plant's three smokestacks was demolished; SUEK is rebuilding taller smokestacks with modern pollution control equipment.
