Kristiane Schaefer

"Co-founder and Co-Director of the Collective Leadership Institute (CLI) focuses on 'Leadership for Sustainability.' Since the foundation of CLI she has been expanding this strategic field and initiated several groundbreaking projects – such as the 'Young Leaders for Sustainability’ Program. Her professional expertise is strategy and concept development, process design, project management, networking and cooperation with the private sector – towards building more leadership competence for sustainability.

"In CLI’s strategic field ‘Cross Sector Cooperation,’ Kristiane was responsible for setting up the international support program for the UN-SEED-Initiative between 2007-2009 – Supporting Entrepreneurs for Sustainability.

"Kristiane has more than seven years of international working experience in the private sector in the area of marketing/communications and strategic development at DaimlerChrysler in Germany, the U.S.A., France, the U.K., South Africa and Asia. Through her long-term experience in the international private sector, Kristiane has a very good network consisting of companies, such as Daimler, Coca Cola, Shell, Deutsche Bahn, Allianz, RWE etc.

"She has gained extensive experience in the public sector as project manager for the German Technical Cooperation (GTZ), where she coordinated the integration of the cooperation with the private sector – such as Public-Private-Partnerships or strategic alliances – within the department for private sector development. Prior to joining GTZ in June 2004, she was a consultant at the UN Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR), supporting the establishment of a public-private partnership broker as a joint venture between the UN and the private sector.
