Background
In 2011, the Jakarta Globe reported that PLN had put out tenders for seven coal plants outside Java; among these was a 450 MW power plant in Kuala Tanjung, North Sumatra.[1] However, this plant did not appear in either PLN's or the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources presentations of Fast Track Phase I and Fast Track Phase II in 2014. It appears that the project has been dropped.[2][3]
