Background on Plant
IDI infrastructures F-Power has proposed a coal-fired power station of 112 MW for the city of Kushiro. It was announced in 2015 and planned for operation in 2019. Due to the plant's small size, it is under local EIA assessment.[1][2]
In Q4 of 2017 the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry granted permission for the development of the project.[3] Construction began in December 2017.[3]
In December 2018 Kushiro Power announced that the scheduled completion date of the plant had been delayed until November 2020.[4]
