Biographical Details
"Mr. Bell recently retired from the position of non-executive Chairman of BC Hydro, one of the largest electric utilities in Canada. From august 2001 to November 2003, Mr. Bell was Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of BC Hydro and, from 1987 to 1997 he was Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of BC Hydro. He is also a director of Hardwoods Distribution Income Fund, International Forest Products Limited, Miramar Mining Corporation, Silver Wheaton and Kimber Resources and is the former Chairman of the University of British Columbia Board of Directors. Prior to these positions, Mr. Bell was Chairman and President of the Westar Group and Chief Executive Officer of Vancouver City Savings Credit Union. In the province’s public sector, Mr. Bell has served as Deputy Minister of Finance and Secretary to the Treasury Board." [1]
