"In January of 2003, Laura-Julie Perrault won Amnesty International’s journalism prize for the written press category. Ms. Perreault is a journalist for La Presse, Le Soleil, Elle Quebec, Madame au Foyer and Confidente. After receiving a grant from the Research Center for International Development, she travelled to central Asia (Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Tadjikistan, Turkmenistan and Kirghizstan) so as to further inform both herself and the global community as to the development of their peoples and cultural unity."
