The Law Society of Kenya "is the premier bar association and legal development agency in Kenya. The Society is established by an Act of Parliament – The Law Society of Kenya Act (Chapter 18 of the Laws of Kenya). The Law Society of Kenya is a body corporate with perpetual succession and a common seal and with power to sue and be sued in its corporate name." [1]

Funding

In 1994 they received a grant from the NED "to identify legal reforms that would strengthen democracy in Kenya and campaign for reforms to further protect citizens' rights". [2]
