Founded by Nicholas Corah [1] "Leicestershire Cares brings businesses and communities together, for the benefit of all, through employee volunteering. We provide volunteering opportunities for companies looking to get involved with communities in Leicestershire & Rutland." [1]
On March 21, 2013, Leicestershire Cares was "crowned the winner of the Not For Profit category of the Leicester Mercury Business Awards. At a ceremony in De Montfort Hall, addressed by Business Secretary Vince Cable, Leicestershire Cares edged out fellow finalists Rainbows Hospice and Soft Touch Arts to scoop the prestigious title. A ten-strong team from Cares was at the event and all went up on stage to collect the trophy." [2]
Beverly Taylor at Maggie’s Café, was awarded Leicestershire Cares 10th Golden Heart Award.
