Levinia Addae-Mensah
Levinia Addae-Mensah "is Ghanaian and joined the KAIPTC in May 2008 as the Programme Coordinator of the Small Arms and Light Weapons Control Programme within the Conflict Prevention, Management and Research Department (CPMRD) before assuming the post of Course Manager in October.
"Levinia is a peacebuilding practitioner and trainer with over 10 years experience working in the field. Prior to joining KAIPTC, she worked as an Independent Consultant for various International Institutions and Organisations. She worked for 5 years with the West Africa Network for Peacebuilding (WANEP) where she served initially as the Special Projects Coordinator and then as the West Africa Regional Coordinator of WANEP’s Active Non-violence and Peace Education Programme, a programme she pioneered in 8 countries in West Africa. Levinia also worked in different capacities with International Alert in London, UK.
"Her passion in peacebuilding has driven her to work in extremely dynamic and volatile contexts such as was the case in Rwanda, Burundi, Liberia, Guinea and Cote d’Ivoire. She has extensive experience working in different capacities on projects in Nigeria, Togo, Ghana, Cote d’Ivoire, Liberia, Sierra Leone, Guinea, The Gambia, Senegal, Belgium, France, Germany, Switzerland and Denmark. Most of her work has focussed on developing and managing projects on Human Rights and Justice, Education and Peacebuilding, Developing Dialogue Processes with focus on Mediation and Negotiation and Working with Children and Youth. She has served as trainer, facilitator and resource person in various meetings, seminars, conferences and workshops around the world.
"She holds a first degree in French and in Geography and Resource Development and an M.A in International Relations. She is fully bilingual in French and English. Levinia is married with a son and 8 dogs." [1]
