He served as the Chief Executive Officer of Florida Power & Light Co., a subsidiary of FPL Group Inc., from January 1, 2002 to July 2008 and served as its President since June 10, 2003... Previously, Mr. Hay served as an Executive Vice President and the Chief Financial Officer of US Foods, Inc. (also known as U.S. Foodservice Inc.). He served as a Partner and served as Senior Vice President with Strategic Planning Associates (now Mercer Management Consulting) where among other things, he led its U.S. telecommunications practice...He serves as Vice Chairman of Edison Electric Institute Inc. Mr. Hay has been a Director of FPL Group Capital, Inc., since June 2001. He has been Lead Independent Director of Harris Corp. since October 22, 2010. He has been a Director of Harris Corp. and Harris Information Technology Services, Inc. since February 2002. He has been a Director of FPL Group Inc., since June 2001 and US Foods, Inc. since 1991. He has been a Director of Capital One Financial Corp., since October 31, 2003. He serves as a Director of Utilities Inc., Nuclear Energy Institute and Florida Power & Light Co. He serves as a Director of the Institute of Nuclear Power Operations (INPO). He serves as a Member of the Business Board of Advisors at Carnegie Mellon University's Graduate School of Industrial Administration, a Trustee of the Benjamin School and a Member of the Florida Council of 100. Mr. Hay serves as a Director of Capital One Bank (USA), National Association. He served as a Director for U.S. Foodservice from 1991 to 1999." [1]
