Linda J. Fisher

Linda J. Fisher "is vice president and chief sustainability officer. She has responsibility for advancing DuPont's progress in achieving sustainable growth; DuPont environmental and health programs; the company's product stewardship programs; and global regulatory affairs, and Government Affairs. She joined DuPont in June 2004.

"Prior to joining DuPont, Ms. Fisher has served in a number of key leadership positions in government and industry including: Deputy Administrator of EPA; EPA Assistant Administrator - Office of Prevention, Pesticides and Toxic Substances; EPA Assistant Administrator - Office of Policy, Planning and Evaluation; and Chief of Staff to the EPA Administrator. Fisher, an attorney, was also Vice President of Government Affairs for Monsanto and was "Of Counsel" with the law firm, Latham & Watkins.

"Ms. Fisher received a law degree from Ohio State University, a Master's of Business Administration from George Washington University and a B.A. from Miami University. She is a member of the DuPont Health Advisory Board, the DuPont Biotechnology Advisory Panel and serves as liaison to the Environmental Policy Committee of the DuPont Board of Directors. Ms. Fisher serves on the Board of Directors of the Environmental Law Institute, on the Board of Trustees of The National Parks Foundation, on the Board of Directors of RESOLVE, and on the Board of Directors for Resources for the Future."

"Linda J. Fisher was confirmed by the U.S. Senate on Aug. 4 to be Assistant Administrator for Pesticides and Toxic Substances of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.

"EPA Administrator William K. Reilly said, "Linda Fisher will do an outstanding job managing our pesticide and toxic programs. She has a proven track record dealing with a wide array of technical issues, complex laws, and intense public and congressional scrutiny."

"She has been Assistant Administrator for Policy, Planning and Evaluation since January 1988, overseeing the agency's development of policy and managing its regulatory process. She has had primary responsibility for developing the agency's position on global climate change. During her tenure, the policy office produced two key climate change reports to Congress, "The Potential Effects of Global Climate Change on the United States" and "Policy Options for Global Climate."

"Fisher joined the agency in July 1983, serving until December 1984 as Special Assistant to the Assistant Administrator for Solid Waste and Emergency Response. From January 1985 until January 1988, she was Executive Assistant and Chief of Staff for Administrator Lee M. Thomas and, as such, was his chief policy and political advisor. She served as the agency's principal policy liaison with Congress and the White House in the rewriting of the Superfund law in 1986.

"Earlier, she served as legislative assistant to Representative Clarence J. Brown from 1974 to 1976 and Representative Ralph Regula from 1976 to 1978 and as associate staff member for the House of Representatives Appropriations Committee from 1979 to 1980."
