Background on Plant
The history of Liuzhou City power station can be traced back to 1916 with the Liuzhou Electric Light Company. In 1959, 1960 and 1969, 3*12MW units were completed at this plant, making it the biggest power plant at that time in Guangxi Autonomous Region, carrying the task to supply electricity to the whole city of Liuzhou, until they were retired in 1993.[1]
The plant currently is a two-unit coal-fired power plant with a total capacity of 440 MW. The plant was completed between 1994 and 1995, and is owned by Guangxi Baise Mining Group.[2]
The plant was retired in 2018.[3]
