{{#badges:stub}} William Francis Forbes-Sempill, 19th Lord Sempill AFC, AFRAeS, (24 September 1893 – 30 December 1965) was a Scottish peer and record-breaking air pioneer who was later shown to have passed secret information to the Imperial Japanese military before the Second World War. Educated at Eton. Colonel William Forbes-Sempill "was a landowner, aviator and member of the 'The Link', a pro-Nazi, anti-Semitic organization. Recently Griffiths reports that he has been linked to a spy ring run out of the Japanese embassy, which would have been particularly problematic for his at that time as he was a serving officer in the Royal Naval Air Service (Griffiths, 1998, p.145)."
