{{#badges: CoalSwarm}} A notice of intent was filed with the Oregon Department of Energy in August 2006 for the development of the Lower Columbia Clean Energy Center. The proponent, Summit Power Group, must file a full application within 18 months of the notice of intent.[1] As of Dec. 2007, air permit applications had not yet been submitted.

August 2008 update

The Sierra Club reported:

According to the Oregon Energy Facility Siting Board, Westward Energy failed to send in a full siting application for its proposed Lower Columbia plant before the August 6th deadline, so if Westward intends to move forward with the project, it must begin the siting process anew. While there has been no official word from Westward about its intent, the failure to submit the necessary application suggests that the plant has been abandoned.[2]
