Background

Magamba power station is a proposed 200 MW coal plant listed in Table 1 of the African Affairs journal article "Competing energy narratives in Tanzania: Towards the political economy of coal" by Thabit Jacob. The table states that the Magamba project has reserves of 53 million tonnes. According to a note attached to the table, the information is based on "field visits and interviews with government officials in March–August 2016."[1] There appears to be no other online references to this project.
