Malcolm Brinded
Malcolm Brinded "was born in the UK in 1953. He graduated in Engineering from Cambridge University in 1974 and joined Shell in The Hague. He has worked for the Shell Group for most of his career - in Brunei, the Netherlands, Oman and the UK.
"From 1993 Malcolm worked in Shell Expro in Aberdeen in several roles, ultimately as Managing Director, responsible for 20% of the UK's offshore oil and gas business. He was also Shell's Country Chairman for the UK from 1999 until March 2002. He was Shell's Director for Strategy, Environment, and External Affairs from May 2001 until becoming a Group Managing Director in July 2002.
"Malcolm became Executive Director Exploration & Production on 27 October 2004.
"Malcolm is a Fellow of the Institution of Civil Engineers, an Honorary Fellow of the Institute of Mechanical Engineers and a Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering. Malcolm was awarded the CBE in the New Year's Honours List 2002 for services to the UK oil and gas industry.
"Malcolm is a member of the Russian Foreign Investment Advisory Council, and of the Shanghai Mayoral International Business Leaders Advisory Council.
"Malcolm Brinded is married to Carola and has three sons. His personal interests include cycling, sailing and music." [1]
