Background on Project

Manas power station was an eight-unit, subcritical coal-fired power station totaling 1,220 MW, commissioned from 1992 to 2008. It is located in Lanzhouwan and owned by Xinjiang Tianshan Power. Units 3-4 of 100 MW each were retired in 2016, leaving 1,020 MW remaining capacity.[1]

Units 1 and 2 were retired in December 2018, leaving 820 MW remaining.[2]
