Mangosuthu Buthelezi

"In 1972 he became Chief Executive Councillor to the KwaZulu Legislative Assembly and from 1976 – April 1994 was the Chief Minister of KwaZulu. He is also the President of the Inkatha Freedom Party ever since it was founded as Inkatha in 1975." [1]

In 1982 he received the George Meany Human Rights Award.

"Buthelezi’s conservation work has not been limited to localendeavours. It has involved being a speaker at World Wilderness Congresses over threedecades, President of the Wildlands Trust, President of the Rhino and Elephant Foundation of Southern Africa and a Trustee of the Wilderness Leadership School." The 2017 Rhino Conservation Awards noted "The winner in the Best Political, Investigative and Judicial Support category was Jabu Qayiso who has more than 20 years’ experience in environmental crime investigation. The Honorable Prince Mangosuthu Buthelezi was announced as the first runner up, and Frik Rossouw was the second runner up." [1]
