Coal Mine Background

In 2009, having been approved by the Office of Merger and Reorganization of Coal Enterprise in Shanxi Province, the Shanxi Coal Transportation Group Maomaoshan Coal Industry Co. was founded through integrating Maomaoshan Coal Mine with Lucaogou Coal Mine located in Shuiyaoxiang, Zuoyun County. On December 9th 2009, it received the mining license issued by the Shanxi Provincial Department of Land and Resources.[1]

In May 2011, the Shanxi Provincial Coal Industry Department approved the construction of Maomaoshan Coal Mine. The construction, however, failed to complete within the promised construction period because of miscellaneous factors such as management, investment, power supply and policies. In December 2018, the Shanxi Provincial Energy Bureau agreed the construction to extended for another 11 months until November 13th, 2019.[2]
