Margaret Tresler
Margaret Tresler[1] is the Program Manager for the Division of Homeland Security and Infectious Disease Research at the Southern Research Institute, Homeland Security Research Department," where she is responsible for oversight of projects in the Birmingham office. She participates in the grants and contracts preparation process and serves as a liaison for the Division on several Institute Committees. She obtained her Bachelor's degree in Chemistry and Physics from Ouachita Baptist University and her Master's of Public Health from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Before joining Southern Research, Margaret was Program Manager for the University of Alabama at Birmingham Center for Disaster Preparedness where she was responsible for development and implementation of Center activities. The Center's primary focus was first responder training for response to biological terrorism or natural outbreaks of emerging infectious diseases. Margaret's background provides her with a unique combination of experience and education in natural science, public health and community education."
