Maria Kabalina "was born and grew up in Moscow, Russia, where she received Master’s Degree in Sociology from Moscow State University in 1999. Maria Kabalina is currently working as Program Specialist, Europe and Eurasia. Ms. Kabalina joined the League in January 2005. Her principle responsibilities at the League include compiling the Belarus Update weekly news bulletin and monitoring, documenting and investigating human rights developments in the CIS, and to publicize human rights violations to promote international policy responses to such abuses through writing and advocacy efforts. Ms. Kabalina has previous experience working in other non-profit and public relations organizations. Ms. Kabalina speaks fluent Russian and English." [1]
