Mark Berry
Mark Berry "was appointed a non-executive director of De Beers sa on 2 April 2003. He was appointed a member of the De Beers Safety, Health and Environment (SHE) committee on 4 February 2003.
"Mark joined De Beers as Wildlife Biologist and Manager of Dronfield Farm in 1980. He was promoted manager of the company's flagship Rooipoort Nature Reserve in 1981 and appointed Senior Farms Manager in 1985. In 1990 he was promoted to Ecologist, and in January 1997, Manager: Environmental Services, a position he held until his retirement in September 2002.
"In his 22 years with De Beers, Mark has played an important role in leading an environmental revolution within the company. In 1991, he obtained his Doctorate from studies conducted while managing Rooipoort." [1]
