Mark Rose
Dr. Mark Rose "is traditionally linked to the Gunditjmara Nation of Western Victoria where his father was removed from Framlingham at the age of six.
"Mark has spent most of his life in education and at some time has taught every level from prep to PhD. As the former principal of Koorie Open Door Education (KODE), Mark has been an active member of VAEAI (Victorian Aboriginal Education Association Inc.) and is currently working on five Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander leadership programs across the nation including the VACSAL/RMIT Leadership program which won the 2003 State Training Award as well as the ANTA National Award.
"Along with his board membership of IEP, he is Chair of First Australians Business in Brisbane, and a former member of the Victorian Government task force on Stolen Generations. More recently, Mark co-chaired the Royal Commission into Aboriginal Deaths in Custody Implementation Review Team. Mark consults regularly with Indigenous and non-Indigenous organisations both nationally and internationally.
"As an academic at RMIT University's Portfolio of Business, Mark teaches predominantly in postgraduate programs in Australia as well as Beijing, Hong Kong, Singapore and Malaysia. He has four academic degrees including a PhD, which is centred on issues of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander management education.
