Marlette Black

Marlette Black "is a Queensland Presentation Sister. Marlette has extensive experience as an educator, administrator, facilitator and justice promoter. She was involved in the governance of her congregation’s schools for over 15 years in the roles of Director, Secretary of the Company, Member of the Company and in planning for the transfer of the sponsorship of the schools. Her current ministry is as the Networker for the International Presentation Association. For several years she was a member of the Caritas National Committee.

"Marlette has a commitment to working with organisations that have an explicit commitment to social change and that carry out their work with limited financial resources. She has worked extensively with religious congregations and community organisations. Her doctoral thesis was on the topic of Women's Leadership in Community-Profit Organisations.

"Marlette is particularly interested in promoting systemic change in church and society according to the principles of Catholic Social Teaching. She has been involved in organising, educating and lobbying on a variety of issues in many organisations. Marlette worked for several years as the Lobbying and Education Coordinator of the Social Action Office in Queensland. She has been involved for many years in working for justice and equity for women in the church and in society. She has been the chairperson for ANTaR Qld and is currently the President of PolMin. Marlette is a founding member of the Queensland Earth Charter Committee. In January 2005 Marlette took up the position of Networker for Global Justice with the International Presentation Association."
