Mary K. Shallenberger
Mary K. Shallenberger, "serves on the California Coastal Commission, the State agency that regulates development along California's coast, as well as off shore drilling and energy development. Prior to her position at the Coastal Commission, Ms. Shallenberger was the Principal Advisor on natural resources and environmental issues to the President Pro Tem of the California State Senate, Senator John Burton. She has a broad background and expertise in public policy and has drafted and negotiated major legislation for the protection of natural resources, as well as Native American sacred sites. Ms. Shallenberger currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Alan Guttmacher Institute, Planned Parenthood Mar Monte and the Mar Monte Board of Advocates; she is past Chair of the Planned Parenthood Federation of America; and is the Vice Chair of the Planned Parenthood Affiliates of California Board. She holds a Bachelor's in Biological Sciences from Mount Holyoke College and a Master's in Civil Engineering from Stanford University." [1]
